Juniors at England FRA. Sedbergh races

Juhn Hodgson with news of our juniors (pictures now on the Photo Album)

With just one in a series of six races remaining, Dallam juniors are performing exceptionally well.
These races, based on various distances up and down the steep slopes of Winder , are not for the faint hearted.
In the U12`s race Dale Sutton finished 4th, but was in contact with the leaders and is now lying about 5th in the overall points table.
Dean Sutton and Sam Till took part in the U 14`s race finishing 3rd and 4th respectively (the first time Dean has done this ?) Sam is lying around 3rd and Dean about 8th in the overall table.

All three of the above ran the previous day at Gargrave, where Sam had broken the record in his race, however Alex Till, keen to be in top form for the Sedbergh race, had taken the day off. The tactic paid dividends as he was in great form. He led his main rival, Josh Moody (Matlock) at the top of the steep climb up Winder and then found an extra gear to extend the lead on the descent, winning the race in style. Josh will finish first and Alex second in the overall table , but both should gain selection for England for the Home Internationals in Wales in October.
