These lectures are organised by the South Cumbria and North Lancashire Athletics Network and are limited to 4 places per club.

Introduction to Nutrition for Athletes - Heather Ohly
7:30pm - 9pm Tuesday 24th February at The Kelsick Centre, Ambleside
"Heather is a registered nutritionist with 12 years experience of public health and research. As an active climber and runner she has always had a keen interest in sports nutrition. She has studied the food and nutrient intakes of endurance athletes at mountain marathons and the legendary Dragon's Back race organised by her husband.
In this workshop for coaches she will cover the basics of a healthy diet to support training, with advice on what to eat before, during and after endurance races. Come along if you want to find out about nutrition and hydration strategies to optimise performance and recovery."

Injury Prevention for Athletes - Adam Smith
7:30pm - 9:00pm Wednesday 18th March at Ulverston Leisure Centre

"Injuries are inconvenient and frustrating. How do we keep our athletes training and racing throughout the season? This is a practical indoor session, which will look at a range of exercises and drills designed to keep our athletes fit and effective. You are encouraged to take part!"
