A hat-trick for Melanie and 5 in a row for Hazel

John Hodgson writes

"This last weekend certainly showed the girls of Dallam putting one over the boys.

On Saturday in the Fairfield Horseshoe race,Hazel finished first lady (44/251) for the fifth consecutive race putting a lot of improvement down to her London Marathon experience (most people go backwards, not forwards, after one of those!)

On Sunday at St John's in the Vale,Melanie took on the boys and the girls of her U14 age-group and led the race for the first half mile or so.The climb was long and steep, but she keeps going, how? I don't know! She finished 7th overall and beat her nearest female rival by over a minute. Her next race is at Elleray School Windermere on Sunday 4th June. A win there and she is crowned England U14 girls champion. She is in line to run for England in a Home International event to be held in Ireland in October.Who is organising the mini-bus?

Alex Till, the only pace-maker we have for Melanie, came third in his U16 boys race and has three races left to accumulate points to see if he can peg back the leaders in the boys championships."

Since publishing this post I've acquired a new printer with a scanner facility,so I've added these photos which John gave me.
I think that they are from Melanie's 1st win?
