"The 2008 series began with new courses for all age groups on Scout Scar on Sunday".Writes John Hodgson.
"Dallam had eight runners competing in the junior races and four in the seniors.
Lizzie and Wilf Goodfellow came 10th and 11th in their respective U12G and U12B races, with Lizzie making her debut as an 9 year old. Big sister Robin though, ( level 14 in the Grange Bleep Test! ) showed off her talent by coming 1st in the U14G race with Jane Gill and Reanne Harvey behind her in 4th and 5th place. Dale Sutton, who has moved up an age group, achieved 5th place in the U14B race.
Also moved up, to the U17 age group this time, was Sam Till who achieved a creditable 9th, whilst big brother Alex came 6th and Kathy Gill 4th in the U17G.
In the seniors, as I left the course, Dave `crazy-legs` Crayston was leading the race at the start and finished a very respectful 5th with Dave Deason 57th. Dawn Gill must have felt really pleased with her 13th place in the ladies race as she slowly, but surely , moves up the order. Susan Goodfellow, exhausted herself before the race, encouraging her children in their races, but still managed 17th in her race. Well done everyone."
