Final details - Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay 2015

From Dowy (wearing his bright swim hat)
Hi all, the Final Details for this years IHMR race on Sun 4th October are now available at the race website http://www.ihmr.org.uk/
What do I need to do?
* Read the Race Instructions at this page http://www.ihmr.org.uk/instructions.html
* Make sure your Team Captain has printed out and completed the Declaration Form. This includes full details for every leg runner and MUST be handed in at Race Registration by 08.45am on Sun 4th Oct. No postal declarations will be accepted. http://www.ihmr.org.uk/docs/ihmr_2015_declaration_form.pdf
* Make sure all runners are aware of the Safety Equipment that will need to be carried. Kit checks are carried out at the end of each leg and this is one area we are not flexible!
* Take note of the Car Parking arrangements, we are hugely dependant on all teams parking at the agreed places. At some changeovers a permit system is in operation and you will be required to car-share within your Club. Again more info on the Instructions page.
* Organise your Maps. You can either use your own maps, or buy copies of the new Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay map from Harvey’s which are available at a price of £4/map. These are waterproof, fully marked with all the checkpoints and also have a suggested route highlighted on it. You can buy them here from Pete Bland Sports at this link here
Patterdale School
The Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay is also an important fixture in the year for Patterdale School and plays a big role in the annual fund-raising efforts for the school. The School, which has just 27 pupils, needs to raise a minimum of £10,000 every year to safe-guard their existence. The school is located on the road where you turn off to Side Farm on Leg 1. As usual staff, ex-pupils and friends will be running a superb refreshment tent before, during and after the race, and also a beer tent to refresh the soul after your running efforts.
This year will also see the sale of raffle tickets for a Grand Raffle which will be drawn in May 2016. The prizes have been kindly donated by businesses and people in the Ullswater valley and include hotel breaks, family tickets for Ullswater steamers, outdoor activities, vouchers for holiday cottages and afternoon tea at Sharrow Bay. Not bad prizes for a £1.00 ticket! Full details are on www.patterdaleraffle.org
