Kendal Winter League : Cautley Spout, Sedbergh - 25/2/07

This was another `Barbon` in disguise with long steep inclines to negotiate up and down, writes John Hodgson

However our juniors turned out in numbers and did not let us down providing three winners on the day.
In reverse order; Alex Till in the U17`s was proving himself to be the `polka-dot` jersey winner of this series with yet another outstanding run on the tough double climb and descent course. He came back looking a lot more comfortable than his rivals. Kathy Gill,in the same race came 5th, liking the downhill far better than the uphill slog.

The U 14`s girls race was dominated by Dallam runners again with Melanie a long way in front. Robin,Jane and Reanne made up our quartet of runners finishing 2nd, 3rd and 5th respectively, but have another year in this age group so are doing really well.

Sam and Dean ran in the boys race which was dominated by the Helm Hill runners .Sam, after his excursions the day before, finished 5th and Dean further back in 8th place.
The U 12`s winner was Dale Sutton, who benefitted from the abscence of his main rivals who were playing soccer instead! Dale lead from start to finish and was followed by Wilf Goodfellow in 8th place.

Just to finish off with a picture of the `hill` the Seniors had to contend with. My horse wouldn`t go fast enough
