KWL - Cautley Spout fell races 24th Feb

Dennis Nelson (Mole) writes

Cautley Spout, Sedbergh, race 8 in the Kendal winter league series has to be described as a fell race for mountain goats, it is in your face all the way up and just when you think its got nothing left to offer it throws some more your way, fantastic. Yet again our more youthful runners have proudly represented the club. The conditions for the start of the day's races was poor, the wind was cold and the sky was overcast but as each race began the weather improved so by the time that the seniors set off the sun was out and as the clouds began to break they revealed beautiful blue patches. In the under 12 race Megan Drinkall and Thomas Drinkall kept pace with each other and Megan came in in 29th place followed closely by her brother, well done to you both. In the under 14 race Jane Gill ran a strong race finishing in 10th place and not to far behind in 12th place was Reanne Harvey. The under 17 race was tough and these young people have to be commended on their efforts in a sport that requires a fantastic amount of commitment, determination and courage. Alex Till lead the field home flying through the finishing line to take first place, Sam Till was not far of the pace coming home in 7th and Cathy Gill should feel proud with her 19th placing.
