I thought I would make you aware of a street orienteering event I am organising In Carnforth on Wednesday 12th November. Last year a number of Dallam club members took part in a similar event in Bolton-le-sands and I thought some of your members might like another go.

The following just gives an idea of what is involved:
The format is a score event – collect as many controls as possible within the time limit, penalties for returning late. As the title suggests, the running is principally on pavements looking for answers from street furniture etc.
Three courses on offer this year are : 75 minutes, 60 minutes, 40 minutes.
Need to bring a pen/pencil, plastic bag to protect the map, headlight or torch, watch, and ensure you wear something reflective. You can compete individually or in pairs Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. 16 & 17 year olds can compete without an adult, but only with the written consent of a parent or guardian. Entry fee £1 – juniors no charge. Start times are between 6.30 and 7.30pm.
May be you would be willing to advertise it to your club. If you think there is going to be alarge uptake then please inform me abd I will print extra maps.
